What is The Walk of Clubs?
The Walk of Clubs is a major fundraising initiative taking place in 2025. Organized by Sport Local Action and The Street Soccer Foundation, as part of the Football For Good campaign. It involves participants walking one or more legs between all 92 professional football league clubs in England over the course of 92 days, starting in August 2025.
The goal: raise vital funds and spotlight the positive impact football has in our communities.
-
Who can take part?
Anyone who loves football, community, and a good challenge is welcome to join—fans, supporters, local residents, or anyone simply looking to make a difference. Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to walk as little or as much as they like, whether it’s a single leg laps around your team’s stradium or multiple legs across the country.
-
How do I register?
Just head here and follow the sign-up instructions. You’ll pay a £25 registration fee and commit to raising at least £150 in sponsorship. We’ll guide you every step of the way—from route planning to fundraising tips.
-
What does the registration fee cover?
Your £25 helps cover essential organisational costs—things like logistics, coordination, and the marketing efforts that ensure this event has maximum impact. It also grants you access to a suite of resources (e.g., route maps, fundraising tools, and volunteer opportunities).
-
Is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
We encourage each walker to raise at least £150 in sponsorship. Half of what you raise supports the local club’s foundation, trust, or community partner that inspired you to walk.
The other half supports The Street Soccer Foundation and Sport Local Action’s broader community programmes—including Street Soccer’s youth initiatives and Sport Local Action’s Sports Bank, which removes financial barriers to sport. But there’s no minimum, what’s most important is getting involved.
-
How are the funds distributed?
50% goes directly to the foundation, trust, or community organisation that brings you on board.
50% supports The Street Soccer Foundation and Sport Local Action.
This structure means every step you take directly benefits community projects and helps grow the life-changing work these organisations do. -
Do I have to walk all 92 clubs?
Not unless you want to! You can choose a single leg, multiple legs, or just laps of your local pitches. Whether you walk one mile or 100, your contribution will make a difference.
-
What support will I get for my walk?
We provide:
Route planning tools and recommended itineraries.
Fundraising resources (like sponsor forms and tips to boost donations).
Marketing materials to help you share your journey.
Opportunities to engage with local volunteer activities and events through our partner organisations.ion goes here
-
Where does the volunteering come in?
We aim to recruit thousands of walkers—and each walker can opt into local volunteering opportunities connected to their chosen club or partner organisation.
It’s a brilliant way to deepen your involvement and directly support the community work happening on the ground.
-
What if I’m not able to walk but still want to help?
There are plenty of ways to support:
Volunteer: Offer your time and skills to help with logistics or community projects tied to the walk.
Donate: Contribute to a walker’s fundraising page or directly to The Street Soccer Foundation and Sport Local Action.
Spread the Word: Share our mission on social media, with local press, or among friends and colleagues.
-
How do I track my progress?
We’ll provide guidance on apps and trackers so you can log your miles, share updates, and celebrate milestones along the way. You’ll also be able to see how your fundraising stacks up in real time.
